Types of Fees

Sellers will be required to pay the following fees, which vary and are shown below. Please note that all fees are listed exclusive of any value-added tax (VAT) or similar taxes that may apply. It's important to note that all service fees, including prepaid listing and advertising fees, are non-refundable.

Transaction Fees

When a sale is made on Cetsy.co, the Seller will be charged a transaction fee of 5.5% of the price displayed for each listing plus the amount the Seller charges for shipping and / or any additional listed service or charge to the Buyer. In addition to the 5.5% transaction fee, digital music downloads will also be billed a transaction fee of $.45/download (Coming Soon). All other digital downloads will incur a $1 transaction fee in addition to the standard 5.5% / transaction.

The transaction fee will apply to the listing price (which should include any applicable taxes that you as a seller are responsible for), shipping price, and any other fees charged to the Buyer. If you / the Seller offers optional personalization or services for an additional fee, the additional fee for such service is added to the listing price you display and the total display price is subject to the same transaction fees described in this Section.

Listing Fees

You will be charged a listing fee of $0.20 USD for most 4-month listings on “general goods” that you place in your shop on Cetsy.co or on any of Cetsy Limited’s mobile apps. Some listing fees differ from our standard 4-month listing fees for “general goods” and are listed below. Editing any listing is always free.

Any 4-month $0.20 listing for general goods, which indicates multiple quantities of the same item, will be automatically renewed at $0.20 after each of the physical items being sold is purchased by a Buyer. Payment Processing Fees

Please be aware of applicable charges when transferring funds from your Seller account to external accounts. These charges are determined by the payment processor or gateway you choose to use.

Shipping of Goods

It is the Seller’s responsibility to know how they will pack and ship the item they are selling, prior to listing the item for sale on the Cetsy.co platform. We recommend that Sellers contact their local major shippers or an agent for rates… and the best solution for local or Global shipping of their goods.

Note to Seller:
Be sure to inquire if any special permits are required so there are no issues with the shipping side of the business.

Currency Conversion

Currency conversion is handled automatically by our payment processing service and further described within the Cetsy Payments Policy.

Fee Avoidance

Any action by a seller to avoid paying any fee is considered fee avoidance and is strictly against Cetsy House Rules. This includes, for example, encouraging buyers to purchase an item in your Cetsy shop somewhere else or outside of the Cetsy marketplace. A transaction initiated on Cetsy may not be completed off the Cetsy platform. The sale price shown in each listing by the Seller must be an accurate representation of the sale. Sellers may not misrepresent the item’s location, or utilize another Seller’s account

How to Pay Your Cetsy Fees

Cetsy will automatically deduct all fees owed from your payment account. Provided you have sufficient funds in your payment account no further payment action is required. If your payment account does not contain sufficient funds, you are responsible for paying any fees owed in full within 15 days of the date of your monthly statement, or the account will be deemed as delinquent, and Cetsy may charge your card on file or take other actions to collect funds as laid out in the Recoupment section of Cetsy's Payments Policy.

Should a Seller make a sale while they have an outstanding balance with Cetsy, the net sale amount will be applied to their outstanding balance due to Cetsy. A Seller may pay their outstanding balance manually by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Mpesa or any other form of accepted payment as is posted on our marketplace.

The Seller’s statement is available in their payment account at the beginning of each month, and it will detail all sales and fees activity from the preceding month. Cetsy may suspend your selling privileges at any time past the 15 days of the date of your monthly statement, pending payment of your outstanding balance.

Auto-Billing

Should one choose to enroll in Cetsy’s automatic payment plan ("Auto-- -Billing"), any outstanding fees not covered by the funds in your payment account will be charged to the credit card you have on file on the first of the month or when your current balance is greater than or equal to your fee threshold. To use the plan, you agree to the following terms.

  1. You authorize Cetsy.co or our payment solutions provider to keep your payment card information on file and to charge the card on file on the first day of each calendar month for the previous month’s outstanding charges and at any time the balance of fees reaches the designated fee threshold for your account. Upon enrollment, Cetsy or it’s payment solutions provider will charge your current balance to the card on file.
  2. When your card account is debited, Cetsy or our payment’s solution provider will send you an email with the amount charged. You can also review this information by accessing your account on Cetsy.
  3. If your card account on file with us is closed, the account number is changed, or a charge is rejected by your card issuer, you must update your card information or add a new card number to your Cetsy account. If your charge is refused by the issuer for any reason, your Cetsy account may be suspended or terminated, and you are still required to pay your outstanding balance by some other means. Your authorization applies to any successor or replacement card you or your card issuer provides.
  4. You may cancel Auto-Billing and change to manual payment by updating your payment settings in your Cetsy account. Cetsy requires a reasonable period of time to act after we receive your notice. This means that an additional automatic payment may be made to your card account while we are processing your request.
  5. Suspended or terminated members remain legally obligated to pay Cetsy for any and all unpaid fees.
