HST and any local sales tax collectively as "VAT".

A. Listing your item(s) on Cetsy
To comply with applicable US tax laws, the payment processor will calculate, collect and remit
sales tax on your behalf.
If you sell on Cetsy and reside in Canada, you may need to include applicable taxes in your
listing prices, except in cases where local tax legislation requires Cetsy to collect the taxes
on your behalf. As different jurisdictions in Canada at both a federal and provincial level
apply different collection requirements for online marketplaces (e.g., GST/HST and provincial
sales taxes) in Canada, Cetsy may need to apply taxes to sales on a tax-excluded basis using
the appropriate factors so that the taxes you include in your prices are not taxed again.
If you sell on Cetsy and reside outside of the US or Canada, you may need to include applicable
taxes in your listing prices.
Where Cetsy is required to collect sales tax/VAT on your behalf payment processor will use the
category you assigned to each listing to calculate, collect, and remit the applicable taxes. You
are solely responsible for ensuring that all of your listings are properly categorized, and you
agree to indemnify Cetsy for any losses it incurs in connection with any miscategorized listings
posted by you.
Please remember that Cetsy's fees do not include any withholding taxes that might apply in your
home country. You are required to pay Cetsy the full amount of our fees due and may not deduct
any applicable withholding taxes from that amount due to Cetsy.
In certain jurisdictions, where required to comply with applicable laws, Cetsy may be required to
withhold taxes from payments made to you or on your sales made through Cetsy.co.
B. Taxes on Seller Services
VAT on Seller Fees
Depending on your business status and location the payment processor may be required to apply VAT
on seller fees charged each month and remit it to the relevant tax authority. VAT is collected
on all Cetsy fees for sellers located in countries where VAT should be applied. Please note that
fees listed in this policy are exclusive of VAT
C. Taxes We Collect and Remit from Buyers
United States Sales Tax
In most US states, as applicable the payment processor will collect the sales tax amount from the
buyer and pay this to the relevant tax authority.
For items shipped to certain states, including but not limited to Washington state (or, for
digital items, those purchased with a Washington state billing address) the payment processor
will use the category you assigned to each listing to calculate, collect, and remit the
applicable sales tax based on the buyer's location in the US.
Digital VAT Fees
Under local laws in certain countries the payment processor is required to collect and remit VAT
to the relevant tax authorities when you sell a digital item delivered via automatic download to
the buyer.
Cetsy will automatically display the increased amount charged to the buyer of the digital item
to collect the correct amount of VAT, and the payment processor will remit it to the tax
authorities.
Other Governmental Fees, Charges and Levies
Certain jurisdictions may require the payment processor to collect other fees, charges or levies
(e.g., environmental fees) from buyers and to remit those amounts to the relevant governmental
authorities. Where the payment processor is required by law to collect such amounts, they will
be charged to buyers at checkout.
Marketplace Reporting of Seller Information
Where legally required, Cetsy will provide your personal details and details of any of your
transactions to governmental authorities who request such information.
Cetsy will not disclose any personal information to any third parties unless legally required to
do so.
